DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A man was killed in a broad-daylight shooting in a north Durham shopping area Saturday afternoon, police said.
The incident was reported just after 3:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Guess Road, which is the Cross Creek Shopping Center where a Food Lion and other stores are located, according to a news release from the Durham Police Department.

“Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who had been shot,” police said in the news release.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, officers said.
The shooting took place at the Guess Road/N.C. 157 intersection with Horton Road where other shops are also located in the area, including a Dollar Tree, Walgreens, Starbucks and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.
“This remains an active investigation and no further details are available at this time,” police said.
